Artist Biography
Born in India and shaped musically across Canada and Germany, Jude Elias is a truly international jazz vocalist whose artistry reflects a life lived across cultures. A Canadian–German citizen, he has travelled to and performed in over 55 countries, bringing a global sensibility to every stage he steps onto.
Jude began his musical journey with the St. Paul’s Primary School Choir in Hyderabad, quickly distinguishing himself as a soloist through multiple inter-city, inter-state, and country-level singing awards. As a tenor, he continued his choral development with the Hyderabad Choral Society, while also studying piano and guitar, later completing the Advanced Grade 6 Classical Piano from Trinity Guildhall.
Between 2006 and 2008, Jude performed extensively across Switzerland, where his artistic focus shifted toward jazz, soul, and blues. This evolution led to the formation of his first jazz band in India, The Comfort Zone, performing in luxury hotels and curated venues across the country.
From 2011 to 2014, Jude was based in Canada, performing regularly at Café Koi in Calgary, collaborating with The Inspiration Band, and appearing in church concerts nationwide.
After relocating to Germany in 2015, Jude joined the Kanemaki Choir under Kazuo Kanemaki, while increasingly focusing on solo work. His German debut took place at the legendary Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, followed by performances at the Grand Hall of the Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall and international festivals in Germany and China, including the Shanghai International Music Festival.
Throughout the pandemic years, Jude remained artistically active through solo projects, church concerts, and weddings. In 2024, he joined the Baltic Jazz Singers in Lübeck as a tenor for a full season. In 2025, he formed his own quintet in Germany and presented his first sold-out solo New Year’s Eve concert, marking a new chapter as a bandleader and jazz storyteller.
